Job Responsibilities

Prepares work zone traffic control plans for construction and maintenance projects. Prepares work zone traffic control special provisions for construction and maintenance projects. Assists in the design of work zone traffic control plans for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with SCDOT and FHWA requirements. Reviews estimates of work zone traffic control quantities prepared for the engineer’s estimate and inclusion in construction and maintenance projects. Conducts field reviews related to the development of work zone traffic control plans. Coordinates with project development and district personnel to determine appropriate work zone traffic control requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists with semiannual work zone traffic control reviews. Assists in daytime and nighttime inspections of work zone traffic control set ups that include the proper installation and reflectivity of traffic control devices. Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and one (1) year of entry-level engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Additional Comments
