Engineering Manager

With over 25 years of experience, our client provides innovative, versatile nanomechanical test instrumentation, and respond to developments in applications in response to customer and market requirements. The integrity, reliability and accuracy of their equipment is paramount, as is their relationship with our users.

The company headquarters are in Wrexham, North Wales. All research and manufacturing is carried out from their custom-built facility, which is equipped with a demonstration suite. The company have many support bases outside of the UK, including the US, Germany, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, India and Korea.

Skills required as the Engineering Manager

  • Ability to build, test and use the NanoTest
  • Must enjoy problem solving
  • Must have the technical curiosity to want to understand why problems have occurred
  • Must have “hands-on” approach
  • Must to able to lead, train and motivate team

Engineering Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the engineering team
  • Managing development projects
  • Ensuring that customer is properly trained and supported
  • Resolving any quality problems that become apparent
  • Becoming familiar with the instrument software
  • Work to introduce new options and instruments
  • Identify opportunities to improve the instrument and/or procedures and implement them
  • Ensure the team deliver a quality instrument on time
  • Ensure compliance with quality control procedures
  • Ensure that the team follow health and safety procedures and policy (and contribute to Health and Safety work)

Other tasks:

  • Ensure drawings, parts lists and assembly instructions are up to date
  • Ensure that the engineering team is fully trained
  • Maintain environmental policy

Additional information:

  • Salary Negotiable
  • Hours of work: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday
  • 28 days per annum including the usual public holidays
  • Pension
